Syaahaar was started in 2013 by Dhulikhel Hospital, Kathmandu University Hospital for research and development of skincare products, the revenue of which, would go towards providing free healthcare for the poor in Dhulikhel Hospital. Dhulikhel Hospital is a not for profit, non-government, community, Kathmandu University Hospital. Dhulikhel Hospital and its 18 different health centers all over Nepal has been providing affordable, quality healthcare to millions of Nepalis in the last two decades. The doctor consultation here is only Rs 40 whereas the cost of hospital stay per night is only Rs 250. Dhulikhel Hospital believes in providing critical healthcare to all irrespective of their ability to pay. Syaahaar plays an important role in providing this sustainability for the healthcare for the poor. We believe that helping our own with our own efforts is the sustainable way of giving back to our community.

Due to popular demand, we have now opened our sales to the general public. Previously the sale of our products was limited only inside Dhulikhel hospital. A 100% of the profit from the sale of all our products goes towards providing critical healthcare for the poor.
